January 25, 2026 – Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps Expands World-Class Leadership Team

Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce the addition of Scott Kittrell, Dr. Brian P. Timmons, and PJ Tankard—three accomplished leaders whose combined experience in performance, education, and adjudication significantly strengthens Legacy’s artistic and competitive vision.

Scott Kittrell brings over 30 years of experience in the marching arts, including performances with multiple DCI Finalist corps and competition at the highest levels of DCI All-Age (formerly DCA). As a member of the Westshoremen, he helped earn consecutive High Drums awards and the 1996 DCA World Championship. A veteran educator since 1993, Kittrell has led percussion programs throughout the Eastern United States, earning multiple indoor and outdoor championship titles. He has served as Percussion Caption Head for Fusion Core, is an experienced adjudicator, and currently serves as Percussion Director at Sherando High School in Virginia.

Dr. Brian P. Timmons is a nationally recognized music educator and conductor with an extensive record of artistic leadership. He serves as District Music Coordinator (Grades 6–12) for Bergenfield Public Schools and Director of Bands at Bergenfield High School, while also directing the Seton Hall University Band and teaching as an adjunct professor at William Paterson University. Dr. Timmons holds a Doctor of Music Education and has led ensembles featured at NJPAC, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. His professional honors include recognition as a Yale Distinguished Music Educator and one of “50 Directors Who Make a Difference.”

PJ Tankard began his marching career with the Elizabeth High School Marching Band in New Jersey and went on to perform with Alter Ego, Black Watch, The Bushwackers, Jersey Surf, and The Cadets. His instructional experience spans from novice through world-class levels, including Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps (2005 Division III Champions, 2006 Division III Bronze Medalists), Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps, Union High School, and West Orange High School, where his ensembles advanced from Scholastic A through Scholastic World, earning the 2014 Scholastic Open Silver Medal. Tankard has also taught AMP Winter Guard since 2017 and joined the Madison Scouts instructional staff in 2021. For the past four years, he has served as a color guard and visual adjudicator for USBands and the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network. He currently resides in Springfield, New Jersey, and works as Director of Contract Management for a Home Infusion & Specialty Pharmacy.

Together, Kittrell, Timmons, and Tankard exemplify Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps’ commitment to elite instruction, educational integrity, and competitive excellence as the organization continues to build a bold and enduring presence in the marching arts.
