Resolute Indoor Percussion Announces Inaugural Season, Building the Next Generation of Performers and Leaders

POTTSTOWN, PA —Dream Performing Arts adds a fourth program to the 501c3 organization established in 2023. Resolute joins Envy Indoor Guard, Helix Winds, and Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps. Resolute Indoor Percussion proudly announces the launch of its inaugural season, introducing a new independent percussion ensemble dedicated to developing young performers through world-class education, artistic excellence, and personal growth.

Resolute will begin its operation in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Resolute Indoor was created with a vision that extends beyond competition. The organization exists to inspire young adults to discover their potential as musicians, performers, leaders, and compassionate members of their communities.

Each season, performers ages 15 to 22 audition for the opportunity to join a cast committed to excellence both on and off the performance floor. From November through April, members rehearse and compete throughout the Mid-Atlantic region before culminating their season at the Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

Resolute Indoor is led by an accomplished team of educators, designers, and performers whose experience spans Drum Corps International (DCI), Winter Guard International (WGI), independent ensembles, and scholastic music programs across the country. Many of the organization’s instructors— and even its members—serve as music educators in schools and private studios throughout the MidAtlantic, reinforcing Resolute commitment to strengthening music education wherever it reaches.

“Our mission is simple,” said the organization’s leadership. “We want every member to leave Resolute better than when they arrived—not only as performers, but as people.”

That philosophy is reflected in every aspect of the organization. Resolute Indoor emphasizes integrity, respect, commitment, and excellence while encouraging members to develop leadership, discipline, teamwork, and empathy through the performing arts. Each competitive production becomes more than an eight-minute performance—it becomes a vehicle for confidence, resilience, creativity, and lifelong friendships.

Supported by a passionate volunteer Board of Directors, administrative team, instructional staff, and industry partners, Resolute Indoor is committed to providing a first-class educational experience for every member. The organization proudly participates in both the Tournament Indoor Association (TIA) and Winter Guard International competitive circuits while fostering an inclusive culture where performers from diverse backgrounds can thrive together.

Dream Performing Arts Academy Announces Executive Board to Help Shape the Future of Young Performers

Accomplished leaders in music education, marching arts, nonprofit management, technology, public service and youth development unite to guide the organization’s future

NEW JERSEY — July 19, 2026 — Dream Performing Arts Academy is proud to introduce its Executive Board, a distinguished group of educators, arts administrators, business professionals and marching arts veterans committed to expanding opportunities for young performers.

Together, the board brings decades of experience spanning Drum Corps International, Winter Guard International, public-school and collegiate music education, nonprofit governance, organizational development, technology, fundraising and community service. This collective expertise will help guide Dream Performing Arts Academy as it continues developing programs that promote excellence, discipline, teamwork and personal growth.

“Dream Performing Arts Academy was created to give young people meaningful opportunities to perform, grow and become part of something greater than themselves,” said Tom Maiello, Founder and Executive Director. “The knowledge, integrity and experience represented on this board provide a strong foundation for our organization. Each member shares a genuine commitment to music education, the marching arts and the young people we serve.”

Tom Maiello — Founder and Executive Director
A longtime drum corps director, educator and nonprofit leader, Maiello served as director of the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps from 2000 through 2016 and was named the 2005 DCI Division III Director of the Year. A 2013 inductee into the New Jersey Drum Corps Hall of Fame, he also served as director of Cadets2 and on the Board of Directors of Cadets Arts and Entertainment.

Carlos Esquivel — President
Esquivel has spent decades educating New Jersey students and expanding access to the performing arts. A founding member and the first drum major of the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps, he also served for more than two decades as assistant director and visual caption head of the Union High School Marching Band.

Phil Melius — Board Member
A retired information technology professional and former executive director of the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps, Melius is a dedicated advocate for music education, student wellness and the life-changing experiences available through the marching arts.

Cheryl J. Rogers — Board Member
Rogers is an award-winning music educator whose 35-year public-education career included building a thriving districtwide string program. Her extensive experience also includes leadership and support roles with USBands, The Cadets and the Boston Crusaders. She was named the 2022 Established Music Educator of the Year by the New York State School Music Association.

Dr. Scott Farkas — Board Member
A music educator, percussionist and composer, Dr. Farkus holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Washington. His work centers on inclusive, community-focused music-making and empowering communities through collaborative leadership and transformative artistic experiences.

Mark Treglio — Board Member
Treglio is president of NEP Services, a technology and communications company serving nonprofit and emergency-response organizations. A founding member of the Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps, he brings nearly 30 years of experience in public safety, strategic communications, crisis response, fundraising and digital brand development.

Shari Kuzel — Board Member
A lifelong member of the performing arts community, Kuzel has performed with the Crossmen, Long Island Sunrisers and Hawthorne Caballeros. She has served as a visual and marching instructor for numerous drum corps, marching bands and indoor percussion ensembles throughout the region.

Scott Litzenberg — Board Member
A retired band director and music department chair, Litzenberg has held leadership positions with the Crossmen and The Cadets and previously served on the DCI Board of Directors. A respected educator, conductor, adjudicator and event administrator, he is a member of the Crossmen and Cavalcade of Bands Halls of Fame.

Ben Regalado — Board Member
Regalado brings extensive nonprofit leadership and financial experience from organizations including Carolina Crown, Youth Education in the Arts, Ascend Performing Arts, Inspire Arts & Music and the Crossmen. His work reflects a longstanding commitment to performance excellence and life-skills development.

Dr. Gregg Gausline — Board Member
Dr. Gausline is associate director of bands at the University of New Haven and an accomplished conductor and educator. A former member of the Garfield Cadets and Cadets of Bergen County, he has also instructed The Cadets, Cavaliers, Magic of Orlando and Southwind.

Doug Clark — Board Member
Clark has devoted more than five decades to music education, percussion, military service and community leadership. A United States Marine Corps veteran, percussion educator and co-founder of the Jamestown Regional Celtic Festival, he continues mentoring young performers through Dream Performing Arts Academy and Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps.

With this experienced leadership team in place, Dream Performing Arts Academy is positioned to strengthen its existing programs, develop new educational opportunities and build a sustainable future for students in the marching and performing arts.

Dream Performing Arts Launches Digital Arts & Social Media Team

New creative initiative will strengthen storytelling, branding and digital engagement across Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps and Dream’s indoor programs.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Every great performance begins long before the first note is played or the first step is taken. It begins with a story.

Dream Performing Arts is proud to announce the formation of its new Digital Arts & Social Media Team, a creative initiative dedicated to capturing and sharing the people, preparation and passion behind the organization. The team will support Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps, Dream’s indoor programs and future ensembles through photography, videography, graphic design, branding, social media strategy, digital communications and technology-driven storytelling.

For Devin Rossey, technology has always been about connecting people and strengthening organizations. As Founder of NorthForge Consulting, Devin works with organizations across the United States to improve communication, operations and customer experiences through technology, software development and digital solutions. Before launching NorthForge, he developed more than eight years of leadership experience in the retail and financial services industries, building strong teams, mentoring others and creating positive experiences for employees and customers.

Devin has remained deeply connected to the marching arts throughout his career. He served four seasons as Color Guard Director for Girard High School, helping grow the program, mentor students and modernize its visual identity. He is also the creator of Guardy, a mobile platform designed specifically for color guard programs to organize and manage equipment inventory.

Capturing the Passion of Performance

Derique Young brings an exceptional combination of military service, performance excellence, education and creative experience to the new team. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Derique served in the United States Army as a Combat Field Artilleryman before building an accomplished career in music and the marching arts.

His marching journey began with Prairie View A&M University’s “Marching Storm” and the PV McFunk BOX Drumline, where he performed from 2008 through 2013, including the 2009 Rose Bowl Parade. His performance experience also includes Gulf Coast Sound Drum & Bugle Corps, Imperial Percussion Theater, the Houston Rockets Drumline, Blue Devils International Corps, Top Secret Drum Corps, Bayou City Blues, Fusion Core and the Long Island Sunrisers, where he served as Tenor Section Leader.

As an educator, Derique taught percussion at Sharpstown High School in Houston, where his students earned honors in Solo and Ensemble, jazz percussion and All-State performance. More recently, he performed with Owen J. Roberts Indoor Percussion, which earned first place in the Mid-Atlantic Percussion Society and fifth place overall in WGI Scholastic A Division. He also serves as Tenor Technician for Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps.

Derique holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Prairie View A&M University and is pursuing a master’s degree in Music Composition for Film, Television and Games at Berklee College of Music. His perspective as a performer, educator and composer will help Dream Performing Arts capture the moments behind the performance—the friendships, challenges, breakthroughs and victories that define the activity.

The Digital Arts & Social Media Team represents more than a new department. It reflects Dream Performing Arts’ commitment to documenting the organization’s journey, celebrating member achievement, promoting recruitment and building lasting connections with families, alumni, supporters and the greater marching arts community.

From rehearsal fields and gym floors to competition venues and community events, the team will showcase the dedication, innovation and excellence that drive every Dream Performing Arts program. Because every performance has a story—and every legacy deserves to be remembered.

Dream Performing Arts Academy Announces the

Launch of LEGACY Drum and Bugle Corps

Union Township, NJ — October 2025 — Dream Performing Arts Academy is proud to announce the launch of the LEGACY Drum and Bugle Corps, taking its first steps toward becoming the newest addition to the marching musical arts activity.

The 2026 season will mark the inaugural year for LEGACY, which will debut as a SoundSport® ensemble during the Drum Corps International (DCI) summer season. The organization also intends to apply for Open Class status and looks forward to meeting all requirements during DCI’s official evaluation process.

“Our goal with LEGACY is to create a world-class educational and performance experiencethat celebrates the traditions of the marching arts while inspiring the next generation of performers,” said a representative of Dream Performing Arts Academy. “This is a chance for students and performers to be part of something meaningful from the very beginning.”

LEGACY is excited to announce its first Open House and Audition Camp, scheduled for November 29–30, 2025, in Union Township, New Jersey. This two-day event will provide an opportunity to meet the organization’s world-class educational staff, board of directors,members, and operational team.

Announces New Assistant Director

August 28, 2025 Rutherford, NJ – LEGACY Drum & Bugle Corps and Dream Performing Arts Academy, is pleased to announce the appointment of the corps new Assistant Director for their Inaugural Season.

Tom Maiello, Executive Director of Dream Performing Arts Academy, has named Deaven Knoles of Hopkinsville, KY, to the position of Assistant Director of Legacy Drum & Bugle Corps. Deaven recently worked with the Memphis Blues Drum & Bugle Corps of Memphis, TN as the corps Administrator and is currently the Assistant Band Director at Hopkinsville High School in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Maiello added, “Deaven brings his organizational and administrative skills to Legacy at the perfect time as we are preparing to host our inaugural audition camps. Deaven’s current and past experiences will be a
major asset to the corps and our students as we continue to start the organization’s first season. We all
welcome Deaven to the Team and look forward to an incredible and memorable Inaugural season.”

Upon accepting the position, Deaven stated “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the
Assistant Corps Director for Legacy. What drew me to the organization was not only the deep passion
for the marching arts and education, but also their commitment to providing meaning opportunities for
young people to learn, grow and thrive through tradition. From the outset, it has been evident that
Legacy’s values align with my own passion for education and development. I am excited to embark on
the new journey with the team and contribute to Building a New Legacy.”

LEGACY Drum & Bugle Corps will begin to accept interested candidate applications for upcoming
audition camps in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indianapolis, Tennessee and Texas, starting in November
