Percussion students should prepare the following:

Perform one repetition of each assigned warm-up.

Hands must be clearly visible throughout the entire video.

Perform with a metronome, and be sure it is audible in the recording.
Performance Tips:

Position the camera so both hands are easy to see at all times.

Focus on solid timing, clean technique, and consistency rather than speed.

Brass students should prepare the following:

Perform one etude or solo that best represents your current ability.

This may be an all-state audition etude, band etude, or another piece you are currently working on.

Perform with a metronome, and be sure it is audible in the recording.
Performance Tips:

Choose music that highlights your tone, technique, and musicality.

The piece does not need to be the hardest you can play โ choose something you can perform well.

Record in a quiet space so your sound is clear and focused.

Use the metronome to demonstrate steady tempo and control.

Color guard students should prepare the following:
- Perform one short routine that best represents your current ability.
- The routine may include flag, rifle, saber, or dance, depending on your experience.
- Choreography may be self-created or taken from past marching band, winter guard, or independent work.
- Weapons and saber to demonstrate ladder tosses from single to however high the can toss cleanly.
- Perform the routine with music or a metronome, if applicable, and ensure it is audible in the recording.
Performance Tips:
- Choose material that highlights your technique, control, expression, and performance quality.
- The routine does not need to be the hardest you can perform โ select something you can execute cleanly and confidently.
- Focus on quality of movement, timing, and body awareness.
- Record in a well-lit space where your full body and equipment are clearly visible.
- Use a camera angle that allows staff to clearly see equipment work, footwork, and posture.
